Dorica

Dorica is born from the reinterpretation of a classical architectural archetype through a contemporary language, transforming the fluting of the Doric column into a three-dimensional system applied to metal.

The project develops the path begun with the Dorico cladding system, expanding it into a family of furnishings and surfaces designed to create coherent environments, where architectural shell and objects share the same formal logic. The systemic approach allows for the creation of flexible and diverse collections, capable of adapting to different design contexts while maintaining a strong visual identity.

The project is based on research into the expressive potential of metal sheets and the technologies used to process the material. Through curvatures and folds, the surface is transformed into a rhythmic architectural element, capable of enhancing depth, light, and oxidized finishes.

The concave slats define the volumes through a continuous vertical sequence that generates essential yet highly recognizable surfaces. Function is fully integrated into the form: openings, doors, and details disappear within the rhythm of the structure, contributing to the creation of coherent, clean, and sculptural objects.

The project stems from a process of formal synthesis that begins with archetypal references and reduces them to their most distinctive elements, maintaining their communicative power while translating them into a contemporary vision. This approach allows for the creation of products that combine familiarity and innovation, establishing immediate connections with the user while maintaining a strong identity.

The burgundy red lacquered interior introduces a more intimate and material dimension, conceived as an integral part of the product experience. The relationship between interior and exterior thus helps define an object that communicates not only through its overall image, but also through interaction and daily use.

Dorica represents an example of design in which form, material, production technology, and brand identity converge in a unified language, designed to develop into evolving systems and collections.
