Francesco Forcellini SRL

Founded in Milan 2017, the studio practices an approach to design that aims at the essence and innovation of the product. Seeking a harmony within the objects through clear design, highlighting the physical and conceptual qualities. The key element of the design is the material consistency, its physicality. The shapes and the surfaces convey sensations using either finishes, textures and/or clean geometries, in this way the focus of the products is on their tangibility. Innovation is pursued on the one hand by carrying out continuous research on production possibilities, on the other by working on the archetypes and meanings of objects, and finally, finding new formal expressions. Constant attention is paid to what is on the market and to the development of lifestyles, proposing new solutions that could have their own place. The consistency of the final project is achieved by total integration of matter, technology, finishing, shape and meaning.

Born in Milan in 1988, Francesco spent his adolescence in Florence, where at the age of 15 he decided to become a designer. Pursuing his ambitions he began studying architecture in high school, followed by a graduate degree in industrial design at Milan Polytechnic and where he further obtained the master’s degree in innovation design. He began his career in design during the early years of university, working in the field alongside his studies. Consolidating his career as product designer in London, he worked for internationally recognized studios and agencies. Working for other studios gave Francesco the opportunity to carry out projects for some of the highest regarded design brands and world leading multinationals linked to innovation, allowing him to develop familiarity with a wide spectrum of materials, production technologies and types of products. Towards the end of 2015, ready to express his personal vision of the discipline, he decided to leave his full-time job as designer in London, to attend the master’s degree for the authorial design course of Contextual Design at the Design Academy of Eindhoven. In Netherlands he rented a space where he began his first design studio. Feeling ready to have the skills to propose his own design idea, he abandoned the Academy after just few months, to dedicate himself entirely to the professional activity.

Francesco Forcellini is member of ADI (Italian Association for industrial design).
